Press Release
Ozarka to Donate more than
9000 Gallons of Bottled Water
For Immediate Release May 11, 2001
Ozarka Spring Water Company will donate 9240 gallons of bottled water to the city of Mauriceville to relieve problems residents face from the recent E-Coli contamination of its water supply. Two Ozarka trucks will depart the company's Houston bottling facility and will arrive in Mauriceville this evening around 8:30 p.m.
Representative Ron Lewis, who helped coordinate relief efforts, is calling for volunteers to meet the trucks at the Sheriff's substation at the intersection of Highways 12 and 62 in Mauriceville tonight at 8:30 p.m. to help unload the water. For safe transportation, the water will be shipped on pallets and wrapped in plastic. If residents have access to forklifts, they are encouraged to participate.
David Feckley, Ozarka's Natural Resource Manager in Texas, said Friday "We were sorry to hear about the contamination problems in Mauriceville. We're just glad we can do our small part to help out."
